Monday, Sept. 17th

Day 2  D-C

 

  • Monday’s Cafeteria Specials: Hot chicken bowl with mashed potato & veggies $5.00; Pulled pork sandwich with a garden salad $5.00; Grilled cheese panini with pasta salad $4.50.

 

 

  • Congratulations to Mr. Paton on his wedding engagement!

 

 

  • Please note that there is absolutely NO CHARGING at the cafeteria. Students are NOT TO ASK TO CHARGE ANY ITEMS.

 

Students

 

  • Grade 7 will again be collecting refundables to raise money for our twinned school, Kiirua Primary, in Kenya. Last year we raised over $1100, one juice box at a time! We would really appreciate if you could put your empty juice packs (without the straw), water bottles, and cans in the blue bins provided. Just look for the orange sign above the bin and Grade 7 will pick them up on a regular basis. Every bottle matters! Thank you for taking the time to support us in this fundraiser.

 

 

  • Rock band for grades 4-6 will be held every Tuesday after school from 3-4pm starting Sept 18th. All students wishing to be in rock band must return their signed form no later than Monday the 17th.

 

   Athletics

 

  • The next and final intermediate boys soccer tryout will be held on Wednesday, behind the rink, at 4:45 p.m.

 

Senior High:

 

  • Students in grades 10 – 12 interested in  applying to volunteer at the Colville Manor are asked to speak with Ms MacGregor-Harris this week.  Hours can be used toward bursary hours!

 


Grads:

 

  • A reminder to all grads to sign up for a Heckbert’s grad photo appointment if you haven’t already done so.  The sign up sheet is on the wall in the lobby.

  • Friday’s Cafeteria Specials: Shepherd’s Pie with side salad $5.50; Chicken nuggets with baked potato & a juice box $5.00; Turkey BLT wrap or hoagie $5.25.

  • This Saturday, as part of the UPEI Invitational, Island junior and senior high school athletes will be given the opportunity to take part in the first AUS meet of the season.  Junior high athletes will run in a 3km race at 11, and high school athletes will take part in the AUS races: a 5km female race at 12 noon and a 6km male race at 12:45. Registration is available on trackie.reg.  Contact Mike Peterson for details at mapeterson@edu.pe.ca.

 

Races take place at Victoria Park in Charlottetown.

For those wishing to do family photos, keep in mind that Loretta Campbell is set up to do this in the Acorn Room on Graduation night.

All students who wish to try out must have their signed high risk form handed in to either the PE office by lunch today or to their coach at the tryout.  No athlete is permitted to tryout without it.

Senior High

 

  • The Workers Compensation Board is seeking two Gr. 11/12 students for its Occupational Health & Safety Leadership program at our school. Students who are selected and complete all program requirements will receive $500 at the end of the school year.  For more information, pick up an application form at Student Services. Applications are due September 29th. Grab a friend and apply today!
